The first issue on the agenda of the traditional meeting of “The Obnovlenie” (Renewal) parliamentary faction was the law-in-draft “On approval of the state target program “Support and development of tourism in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for 2019-2026 ”. The document was presented to the deputies by Deputy Chairman of the Government Sergei Obolonik and Deputy Minister of Economic Development Natalia Sitkina.
Today, most foreign tourists do not stay in the country for more than a day. At the same time, on average, they “leave” about $ 100 (lodging, food, travel, souvenirs, other expenses). $ 28 of these goes directly to the budget by collecting taxes from the entities serving tourists. The most important task is to make inbound tourism become medium-term (more than a day) or even long-term (7-8 days). It is necessary to develop and offer tourist product, improve infrastructure, and actively promote the image of Pridnestrovie in the external arena.
Pridnestrovie has tourism potential, according to the Government, which initiated the adoption of a state target program for the development of tourism. This is rural tourism, gastronomic, wine, curative, using the potential of our unique natural places and a certain specificity of the republic.
As the developers of the program plan, 2 million budget rubles will be required in the first year of its operation. Half of them are supposed to be used to promote Pridnestrovian tourism project, including by means of web site, 21% of the funds are planned to be spent for the development of various types of tourism and 28% will be investments in infrastructure.
Having received the necessary information about the structure and content of the “Support and Development of Tourism in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic 2019–2026”, members of the faction asked many representatives of the highest executive body. The first of these concerned the targets for the implementation of the program. They are ambitious - by 2026 there is a desire to bring a number of tourists visiting the republic to 100 thousand people. Another question of the parliamentarians concerned medical tourism in general and the development of the material and technical base of our main health resort - sanatorium "Dniester" in Kamenka.
The result of a lengthy, interested discussion was the decision on the recommendation to adopt a program for the development of tourism in Pridnestrovie for the next eight years in the first reading.
Among the issues discussed by the renovationists are legislations on amending the law governing the remuneration of public sector employees, as well as a law-in-draft on universal conscription and military service.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Head of the parliamentary economic committee, Oleg Vasilaty spoke about the progress of the visit of the delegation of the Supreme Council to Moscow and the discussed issues. The people's representative singled out two of them - the inclusion of Pridnestrovie in the program on the simplified procedure for the adoption of Russian citizenship and the allocation of humanitarian aid in the form of medical equipment by the Moscow government.
