The Priority sectors of the state

The directions and spheres of economic activity of Pridnestrovie, which are priority for the state, will be expanded. The Supreme Council adopted the corresponding amendments to the law “On additional measures aimed at stabilizing the PMR economy” in the second reading. This was done so that economic agents working in priority areas could take soft loans for development. The state is ready to subsidize part of the interest rate on the loan.

For example, one of the priority areas of development for the state is the tourism sector. In recent years, a lot has been done to increase the tourist attractiveness of Pridnestrovie. Since 2019, a state program for the support and development of tourism has been implemented. It is designed for 8 years.

The state subsidizing a part of interest rates on loans will be carried out within the limits of financing approved by the law on the republican budget for the corresponding financial year within the framework of the PMR Entrepreneurship Development Fund. Today the state subsidizes approximately 6% of the loan. The economic agent pays 3-4% per annum. Such low interest rates are comparable to European lending rates.

In addition, the effect of preferential taxation in respect of sanatorium and resort establishments has been extended for a year. During the period of quarantine measures, such institutions do not fully use their potential. Organizations' revenues have dropped significantly. The deputies supported this initiative, formalized in the form of an amendment, and adopted the law-in-draft with amendments to the law "On additional measures aimed at stabilizing the PMR economy" in the final reading.
