20.12.2023

The “Development of the drinking water supply system for settlements of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic” state target program will operate in Pridnestrovie Starting next year. The program is designed for 5 years. It identifies 32 settlements, 29 of which are villages and towns:

– in Slobodzeya district: Kitskany, Nezavertailovka, Staraya Andriyashevka, Konstantinovka, Glinoe, Vladimirovka, Mereneshty, Parkany;

– in Grigoriopol district: Gyrtop, Speya, Malaeshty, Delakeu, Butor, Karmanovo, Krasnogorka, Krasnoe;

– in Dubossary district: Doibany-1, Novo-Komissarovka, Garmatskoye, Koikovo;

– in Rybnitsa district: Voronkovo, Lysaya Gora, Kolbasna, Vadaturkovo, Bolshoi Molokish, Shmalena;

– in Kamenka district: Grushka, Rashkov, Khrustovaya, Podoyma - Podoymitsa, Yantarnoye.

The state program was formed by the Government taking into account proposals from city and district state administrations and citizens’ requests. Initially, its name referred to villages and towns. Deputies and government representatives agreed that the program should be renamed, noting “villages and towns”, but “settlements” as part of the discussion of the draft state program in the Committee on Agroindustrial Complex Issues. The program currently includes not only villages, but also towns; moreover, during the five years of the program, the list of settlements where it is necessary to repair water supply systems may expand. Deputies supported at the plenary meeting the amendments prepared by the Committee related to changing the name of the state program.

First of all, attention will be paid to settlements where there is an urgent need for drinking water supply as part of the state program. It is planned to provide centralized water supply to more than 12.5 thousand water consumers in villages over 5 years. The network will be laid along the street, and villagers will need to connect to it themselves, the Ministry of Economic Development explained.

The significance of the adoption of the state program for water supply to populated areas was emphasized by Vasily Kunitsky, deputy of the Supreme Council for constituency No. 17 in Rybnitsa district. The constituency includes the villages of Kolbasna, Vadaturkovo, Bolshoi Molokish, Shmalena, which are designated in the state program.

The deputy of the Supreme Council for constituency No. 17 said that only 10-15% of residents use tap water through artesian wells in these villages; mainly the young population can afford to use such water. People of retirement age are in a difficult situation.

Drinking water does not meet quality standards because water supply systems are worn out or artesian wells have expired in many populated areas. It is planned to replace old networks with new ones during the five years of the state program.

They want to allocate almost 12 million rubles for the implementation of the program in the first year. The source of financing may be the balance of funds accumulated in the accounts of the republican budget as of January 1, 2024, as noted in the explanation to the law-in-draft.
