The Commissioner for Human Rights Vyacheslav Kosinsky in the course of the plenary session presented a report on the work results for 2018 to the deputies of the Supreme Council. Last year, the Office received 871 appeals. 216 of them were social. The topics raised by citizens concerned the calculation of pensions and social benefits, the work of the health care system. According to the Commissioner, the situation with non-payment of wages was monitored.
The Commissioner for Human Rights, being subject of the right of legislative initiative, last year sent two legislative initiatives to the consideration of the Supreme Council, which were supported by the Parliament. The Report of Vyacheslav Kosinsky was noted by the deputies.
The leadership of the Supreme Council meets regularly with the Ombudsman. Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov studied the working conditions of the staff of the department in March. At the meeting, the speaker and the ombudsman talked about the need to update the material and technical base of the structure, and discussed the issue of cooperation.
