The principle of unity of the status of judges

The Parliament in the second reading adopted amendments to the Constitution, as well as a number of constitutional laws governing the judiciary. The proposal of deputies was sent to the principle of unity by setting limits regarding the age of the status of judges in the Republic of office the judges of the Constitutional Court - 65 years. Current legislation sets the age limit for appointment as judges of the Constitutional Court 58 years. Deputies adopted a number of amendments when considering the parliamentary initiatives in the second reading. One of them is of clarifying nature and is aimed at removing possible legal conflict between the provisions of the Constitution regarding the term of appointment as a judge of the Constitutional Court when it reaches the age limit in this position. This will allow those whose age exceeds 58 years be appointed to the position of judge of the Constitutional Court for a period until they reach the age limit in this post.
