The arch of the peace "Blessed are the Peacemakers" is set on the way from Tiraspol to Bendery in the district of Parkany. It was on this very road in 1992 that the Cossacks, guardsmen and militiamen rushed to the rescue of Bendery. It was on it in late July of the same year Russian peacekeepers traveled. The long-suffering Pridnestrovians greeted them with flowers and tears of joy - the war was over, the peace came.
The opening ceremony of the arch "Blessed are the Peacemakers" was attended by President Vadim Krasnoselsky, RF Ambassador to Moldova Farit Mukhametshin, Chairman of the Parliament Alexander Shcherba, Prime Minister Alexander Martynov, parliamentarians, representatives of ministries and departments, labor collectives, public organizations, servicemen of the peacekeeping forces and the Ministry of Defense of the PMR.
Pridnestrovie is the third state in the post-Soviet space, following Russia and Ukraine, where an international architectural center "Peace Right", implementing the large-scale project "The Road of Peace", established such an architectural structure. At the same time it is still the most magnificent of the existing ones. The authors of the project are students of the PSU who won a special competition for the best sketch of the monument.
Participants of the ceremony were welcomed by the President.
The Russian peacekeepers were welcomed by the Russian ambassador Farit Mukhametshin.
The construction of the "Blessed are the Peacemakers" at the Parkan Arch was made possible thanks to the active participation and financial support of Irina Umnova-Konyukhova, the head of the "Peace Right" Center.
The final points of the ceremony were the lighting of the arch, the laying of flowers at its foot and the solemn march of the Pridnestrovian security-services.
