The Example of Parliamentary Unity

III Christmas parliamentary meetings were held within the State Duma during XXIII International Christmas Readings. The Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill addressed lawmakers for the first time in the history of the lower house of the Russian parliament. This was preceded by a ceremonial signing of the protocol on cooperation between the Russian Historical Society and the Patriarchal Council for Culture.

Well-known Russian politicians, statesmen and spiritual leaders: Chairman of the State Duma Sergei Naryshkin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government Olga Golodets, 1st deputy. Chairman of the Federation Council Alexander Torshin, Metropolitan of Rostov and Novocherkassk Mercurius were Co-Chairs of the public forum. Pridnestrovian legislators - Chairman of the Supreme Council Mikhail Burla and deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance Peter Pasat were among the participants of the parliamentary meetings.

Sessions on "The Legacy of Holy Russia and the challenges of the modern world", "Spiritual and moral education in the schools of Russia: status, problems and prospects" were held in the course of the III Christmas parliamentary meetings.
