31.08.2021

Pridnestrovians want to be involved in the processes taking place in Russia. This was stated by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky in the course of the traditional press conference on the eve of the Republic Day, answering a question about the participation of Pridnestrovians in the Russian elections.

Today's meeting with the President was not too massive. The chief editors of the state and municipal media, as well as the heads of the press service of state authorities and administration were invited to communicate with the President.

Answering the question about why Pridnestrovians go to polling stations and elect Russian deputies, the PMR President emphasized that the future of Russia is being decided in the elections to the State Duma. The stability of the Russian Government and the solution of issues that concern the residents of Pridnestrovie depend on their results. The issues of using maternity capital, health insurance, obtaining Russian citizenship and retirement benefits require amendments to the legislation of the Russian Federation. This is precisely the competence of the deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. They also interact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and can help in solving the problem of normalizing the work of the consular post in Tiraspol.

According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, the deputies elected from Pridnestrovie will need to be more actively involved in this work. Although some issues may take a long time to resolve.

Elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the VIII convocation will be held on the 19th of September. 27 polling stations will be opened on the territory of Pridnestrovie.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed confidence that the citizens of Pridnestrovie who have a Russian passport will take an active part in voting at the elections of deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

Most of all the journalists were interested in the issues of the internal politics of Pridnestrovie. Various spheres of life of our state and society were touched upon. Health care, construction and reconstruction of socially significant facilities, social protection, economics, agro-industrial complex, employment. Low wages for public sector employees and pensions are the most painful points in the republic. The state will follow the path of their gradual increase. The topic of social support for the population also affected the provision of housing for the defenders of Pridnestrovie. Many who are in line to receive an apartment cannot receive it for many years. Vadim Krasnoselsky noted: this year 8 apartments were allocated for disabled people - defenders of Pridnestrovie. The state budget will provide targeted funding for the purchase of 25 apartments for the defenders of Pridnestrovie in 2022 at the initiative of the President of the PMR.

Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the current state target programs in the health sector. Significant funds have been allocated from the budget and all state programs are mandatory until 2025. The budget will spend 104 million rubles for the implementation of the HIV-AIDS prevention program, 41.7 million rubles for the population immunization, 97 million rubles for the tuberculosis prevention program, and 200 million rubles for the state program for oncological assistance. According to the President, all patients who fall under these programs receive medical care free of charge. The first reading in the Supreme Council passed the state program for the prevention and treatment of viral hepatitis, cardiovascular diseases treatment is being prepared.

Answering the question about the employment of young people in the countryside, Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the preservation of schools and medicine in the countryside, about the program of dual education, which has been operating in the republic since 2018, and about the revival of the reclamation complex. The republic had 8 thousand hectares of irrigated land in 2017, as of January 1, 2022, 25 thousand hectares will be reclaimed. One hectare of irrigated land creates up to 20 jobs, said Vadim Krasnoselsky. The President set a task for the Supreme Council and the Government to provide funding for the production of equipment for pumping stations and the construction of pipelines and canals. He emphasized that the personnel shortage among machine operators, agronomists and land reclamators should be reduced.

The press conference lasted three hours. In conclusion, the President congratulated all Pridnestrovians on the upcoming Day of the Republic.

The President of the PMR expressed special words of gratitude to the Russian Federation.
