Pridnestrovian militia is 31. It was on March 17, 1992 that the Decree on the formation of volunteer units to protect the young republic was signed. Flower-laying ceremony took place at the Memorial of Glory in Tiraspol today. The Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva and the PMR Supreme Council deputy Ivan Nedelkov gave tribute to the fallen defenders of Pridnestrovie. He was one of more than 20 thousand people who in the spring of 1992 came to the defense of Pridnestrovie. 232 militiamen were killed, over 200 were injured in the battles for the independence of the young country. More than 100 defenders of Pridnestrovie died from the consequences of combat wounds after the end of hostilities.
Fresh flowers lay at the graves of the defenders of Pridnestrovie at the Memorial of Glory in the capital. Direct participants in the events of 1992 and those who remember the feat of their relatives come here every year.
The Vice-Speaker added that both the members of the people's militia and the guards - they all played a huge role in the formation and formation of our state. They gave the current young generation the opportunity to live freely and speak their native language - Russian, Moldovan, Ukrainian or any other. It is especially relevant and significant today, because the preservation of peace is one of the basic principles of the statehood of Pridnestrovie.

The militia stood in positions in the Dubossary region, defended Bendery in the summer of 1992. The militias share their experience and knowledge with young soldiers and officers of the Pridnestrovian army.
