Russians elected representatives in the State Duma of the Russian Federation

The interests of Pridnestrovians in the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the VIII convocation will be represented by 7 parliamentarians, who were elected in single-mandate constituencies. Almost 60 thousand residents of the PMR took part in the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation on September 17-19.

According to the results of voting on party lists, the leader is the United Russia party, followed by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, followed by the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, Just Russia and New People. The rest of the parties did not overcome the 5% barrier for entry into the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

The Central Election Commission of the PMR reports that in Pridnestrovie, according to the results of voting, “United Russia” is also in the lead (45263 Pridnestrovians or 76.42% of those who voted). 3635 people voted for the Liberal Democratic Party - 6.14% of voters. For the Communist Party - 3022 voters or 5.1%. 1178 residents of Pridnestrovie, which is 1.99% of the voters, chose the New People party.

The State Duma of the Russian Federation is elected for 5 years under a mixed system. Half of the deputies (225) are elected by party lists, half by single-mandate constituencies.

Residents of Pridnestrovie voted at 27 polling stations in 7 single-mandate constituencies (Saratov, Smolensk, Lipetsk, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad and Voronezh regions). According to media reports, the interests of Pridnestrovians in the State Duma of the VIII convocation will be represented by Sergey Neverov (United Russia, Smolensk region), Marina Orheeva (United Russia, Kaliningrad region), Nikolay Bortsov (United Russia, Lipetsk region), Sergey Chizhov (United Russia, Voronezh region), Alexander Strelyukhin (United Russia, Saratov Region), Andrey Vorobyov (United Russia, Saratov Region) and Mikhail Shchapov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Irkutsk Region).

It was noted in the "United Russia" party that in the State Duma of the VIII convocation, "United Russia" receives a constitutional majority (more than 300 mandates). According to Ella Pamfilova, chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, three more parties will be represented in the State Duma, whose representatives won in single-mandate constituencies. The final results of the 2021 elections will be announced at the end of this week, said the Head of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.
