A big cleaning took place in the center of Tiraspol last weekend. Activists of the PMR Youth Parliament, students of PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko and high school students from Bendery joined the Russian environmental campaign. Young people collected rubbish in the center of Tiraspol in the area of the Dniester embankment.
The event was organized by the public movement "Young Guard of United Russia". On September 19, on the World Cleanup Day such an event took place in all regions of Russia, in the countries of far and near abroad. It started in the Vladimir region, then volunteers from Pridnestrovie, South Ossetia, Altai, Ingushetia, Chechnya and other republics joined in. The aim of the eco action is to fight for the preservation of the environment.
Anna Borishchuk recalled: it is clean not where they clean, but where they do not litter. Therefore, she called on all Pridnestrovians, and especially young people, not to litter or clean up after themselves.
The Youth Parliament has more than once held voluntary Saturday work and participated in environmental campaigns. For example, last year activists put things in order in Bendery for the City Day. This year, there are plans to clean up the capital's territory along the Dniester, because this is where the most garbage accumulates.
