The leaders of the republic, deputies and members of the Government laid flowers at the capital's Memorial of Glory and honored the memory of the millions who fell during the Great Patriotic War, those who defended Pridnestrovie from Moldovan nationalists, the presidential press service reports. Traditionally, on February 23, not only those who have served or are serving now in the ranks of the Armed Forces of our republic are honored, but this day is also an informal national holiday for all men. They remember on Defender of the Fatherland Day those who bravely fought for the Motherland and the peaceful sky overhead.
Each representative of the strong half of humanity is the defender of his country, his home, his family. Courage, fortitude and readiness for self-sacrifice were and remain part of the main masculine qualities that contribute to maintaining peace and tranquility.
Our sacred duty is to preserve and pass the truth about the most terrible war of the 20th century from generation to generation, about the courage and selfless service of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers to the Motherland, about the great feat of the people.
