Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov told the parliamentarians in the course of the plenary session today about his working visit to Moscow last week. The delegation of Pridnestrovie, headed by the Speaker of the Parliament, which included the heads of the committees on economics and social policy Viktor Guzun and Sergey Cheban, Chairman of the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank Vladislav Tidva and Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maria Glushkova from November 15 to 18 held a number of meetings in the State Duma and the Federation Council, in Russian Federation Government. They met with the leaders of parliamentary factions and the leadership of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
State of emergency has been in effect in Pridnestrovie since October 21. The work of large industrial enterprises, which are the main taxpayers to the republican budget, was disrupted due to the reduction in natural gas supplies. The situation worsened in November – JSC "Moldovagaz" unilaterally reduced the volume of natural gas for Pridnestrovie, which is supplied under the contract to both Moldova and the PMR. Deliveries of blue fuel to Pridnestrovie in November were reduced by 40% compared to October. This is despite the fact that Pridnestrovie already received in October 30% less gas than in the same period last year. It is necessary to save a lot in order to have enough gas to heat houses and social facilities and to generate electricity for the population. Hot water began to flow into houses on schedule, heating was at a minimum, departmental buildings were not connected to heat at all, citizens were urged to save electricity, large budget-forming enterprises were stopped, which led to a shortfall in taxes to the budgets of all levels.
Meetings with public organizations, including Rossotrudnichestvo, the continuation of interaction and the possibility of opening new joint projects in Pridnestrovie were discussed in Moscow.
