The “Garden of Memory” international event was held in the Botanical Garden of Pridnestrovian State University for the third time, during which volunteers and pupil of Suvorov Military College together with Vice-Speaker of Parliament Galina Antyufeyeva planted trees. Green monuments are planted in Russia and abroad every year. More than 5.5 million people from more than 50 countries took part in planting memory gardens during the campaign. Pridnestrovie joined the action in 2021. The Renewal Pridnestrovian Republican Party since then has been attracting young people to plant trees in memory of those killed in the Great Patriotic War. The campaign reached an important milestone – the 100 millionth tree was planted in 2023, the count continues.
Volunteers and pupils of Suvorov Military College together with the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Galina Antyufeyeva planted in the botanical garden this time 38 seedlings of fruit trees from the Kamenka transplant nursery. Two-year-old apple trees, cherries, plums and apricots should be well received after the rains. The first fruits will appear on them in a few years, not earlier. You can always take care of a tree you planted yourself.
The Renewal party together with employees of the Botanical Garden of Pridnestrovian State University prepared simple equipment for planting. Pupils of Suvorov Military College came with their shovels. Planting trees is a completely new thing for many participants in the mass event. Therefore, 15-year-old boys listened at first to how to do it correctly. A master class for them was conducted by an employee of the botanical garden. He showed where the grafting site was on the seedling and explained that this small protrusion should be above the surface of the soil. The seedling will definitely take root then.
