Activists of the Obnovlenie party held the "St. George Ribbon" mass event in the capital's Aviators Square on April 24. Participants in the patriotic event laid flowers at the monument to the soldiers-aviators before the mass event.
The "St. George Ribbon" mass event was first held in Russia in 2005 in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Great Victory. Pridnestrovie joined the mass event on April 24, 2009. Activists of the Obnovlenie party have held the event annually since then.
Chairperson of the Republican Party of People's Commissars "Obnovlenie", Deputy Chairperson of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Galina Antyufeeva called the mass event a special tribute to all veterans.
Activists of the "Obnovlenie" party together with students of Tiraspol universities and colleges distributed several hundred ribbons, symbols of Victory to the townspeople.

The first owners of St. George ribbons in Dubossary district this year were residents of the village of Dubovo. A rally was held in the village in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory on April 24. The participants of the event honored the memory of those killed in the Great Patriotic War with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the monument.
The action "St. George ribbon" was carried out by activists of the Dubossary territorial branch of the party "Obnovlenie". The start of the event takes place every year in different settlements of the Dubossary district at memorial complexes where Soviet soldiers-liberators are buried. Schoolchildren in the village of Dubovo were also given booklets with information about the liberation of the city of Dubossary and villages of the Dubossary district in April 1944 along with the Victory symbols.

St. George ribbons were distributed in the Rybnitsa village of Mokra. The event started at the Glory Memorial. As part of the event, a large St. George ribbon was handed over from residents of the village of Stroentsy, where the event started last year. The event was held with the support of the Obnovlenie party.
They plan to distribute about 5 thousand symbols of memory of the Great Patriotic War throughout the republic by May 9.
