Pridnestrovie prepared for Cosmonautics Day

The 11-meter banner dedicated to Yuri Gagarin appeared in Tiraspol in Gagarin Boulevard at the beginning of the week. The image is placed on the facade of house No. 71 in Sverdlov Street. The event is timed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first manned flight into space.

The large-format image of Yuri Gagarin was appreciated by the coordinator of Rossotrudnichestvo projects in Pridnestrovie Nikolai Zhuravlev. He is a native of the Smolensk region, like Yuri Gagarin. Therefore, Nikolai Zhuravlev noted, he is especially pleased to see the image of a famous countryman in Tiraspol.

The children's drawing competition in Pridnestrovie was timed to coincide with the anniversary date. It was announced in January of this year by the Obnovlenie (Renewal) Republican Party together with the "Future of Pridnestrovie" foundation with the support of the republican movement "Youth Renewal". The competition was held remotely in the context of the pandemic and quarantine regulations. Young people still continue to send their work by e-mail. The organizers have already received over 700 drawings. They will be assessed by a jury - members of the Union of Artists of Pridnestrovie, deputies of the Supreme and City Councils, members of the apparatus of the Obnovlenie party.

“We popularize space themes. We want children to expand their horizons, to know about famous people, about their exploits. So that they strive not only for cosmic heights, but also for earthly exploits. The idea was to sharpen the attention of children to this topic. We hope that it will take on a wider scale: children will be interested not only in space, but also in science, technology, and will strive to learn more”, said Deputy of the Supreme Council Ilona Tyuryaeva.

Children from all over Pridnestrovie sent their drawings. Now the work is systematized by the age of the children. The youngest artist is 6, the oldest is 18.

Children's drawings on space themes can be seen in the exhibition hall of the Catherine Park. The exposition will be opened on April 12. All quarantine measures will be followed. The coronavirus pandemic has adjusted plans for holding other events for Cosmonautics Day. Deputy of the Supreme Council Ilona Tyuryaeva expressed gratitude to the state administration of Tiraspol and everyone who took an active part in their preparation. Admirers of the space theme will be able to take part in the star dictation "Poehali" (Let's go) that is organized by Rossotrudnichestvo. To do this, you need to register on the poehali2021.ru website. The dictation starts on April 12 at 14.00. The text will be read by the author - science fiction writer Sergei Lukyanenko.

The star dictation is being held for the first time. Its unique form is the know-how of the author and Rossotrudnichestvo. Roscosmos is one of the partners of the dictation.
