The agendas of the plenary meetings were supplemented by Presidium

19.12.2023

The Supreme Council will hold two plenary meetings - on December 20 and 21 this week. The agenda includes over 70 issues, including the third reading of the 2024 budget. The Presidium of the Supreme Council today added 15 more issues to the list. There are government legislations among them which if adopted and signed should come into force on the 1st of January.

It is proposed in particular to amend the law “On Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities” and include in it measures of state support for children with special needs. Currently, these measures are enshrined in anti-crisis legislation. We are talking about exempting disabled children from paying for meals in rehabilitation day care centers. The state will provide children with food packages or monetary compensation in the absence of lunches. The same measure of support is proposed to be prescribed in the Law “On Education” for kindergarten pupils, schoolchildren and students. If they have benefits for paying for meals, then they will be able to receive a food package or monetary compensation in the case of distance learning.

Parliamentarians will consider this week another measure related to providing support to industrial and agricultural organizations in the form of extending the repayment period of preferential loans.

Deputies of the Committee on Social Policy prepared for adoption in the second final reading law-in-draft adjusting the state program “Providing residential premises (apartments) or residential buildings for orphans, children left without parental care, persons from among orphans and children left without parental care for the period 2018-2027” in addition. They want to allocate in 2024 more funds from the republican budget to purchase housing for orphans – not 6 million as previously indicated in the program, but 15 million rubles.

The decision on all legislations submitted to plenary sessions will be made by the deputy corps.
