The initiator of the regatta for rowing was personally the President Vadim Krasnoselsky. Rowing veterans, and the younger generation of athletes were invited to participate in the competitions. The opening of the regatta was held at Bendery rowing base "The Seagull". Addressing the participants of the sports festival, the President emphasized that today's regatta is aimed at popularization of mass sports in Pridnestrovie.

Participants of the competitions honored the memory of Nikolai Tufanyuk, the founder of academic rowing in Bendery, who brought up a generation of eminent oarsmen.

Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Shcherba spoke about the importance of preserving the best sports traditions.

Representatives of academic rowing, as well as canoeists took part in it. The candidate for the Master of Sports of the USSR in rowing, President Vadim Krasnoselsky took part in the veteran crew. In the composition of one of the "eights" was a deputy of the Supreme Council on one of the Bendery districts Sergei Pisarenko. Participation in the regatta was also attended by the speaker of the parliament Alexander Shcherba and the first president of President Igor Smirnov. Totally, participants of the regatta overcame the route length of 12 kilometers. The completion of the sports festival was the awarding of the participants of the competition in "The Youth" health camp.
