The election campaign in full swing

Pridnestrovie is actively preparing for the elections. Less than a month divides us from the zero hour of so called "single day of voting." Reception of documents from those who want to be a candidate of the Supreme and Local Councils is over. The final number of candidates will be known after the November holidays.

According to the CEC, 93 people were registered as candidates for deputies of the Supreme Council at the end of the week. Another 48 applicants were awaiting for decision of the CEC: it is the citizens who have submitted all the requirements of the relevant documents in due time before 29 October. The fate of their applications will be decided within the next week. No less important and traditionally very active phase of the campaign - campaign in the districts and in the media starts November 1.

Time-table for the order of free placement of campaign materials in mass media in cities and districts of the republic is scheduled for October 28. A copy of each of them before the publication should be submitted to the election commission with an indication of the data and other information provided by law.

Similar scheme works on the ground. 315 applicants are recognized today as candidates for deputies of city and regional councils. On the 29 November will be known who of them will be given the people's preference.
