In the course of the visit of the parliamentary delegation to the Russian capital one of the main topics was the peacekeeping operation, carried out in the region under the leadership of the Russian Federation.
According to Vadim Krasnoselsky there is no alternative for the current peacekeeping operation. The head of Pridnestrovian Parliament has a big and largely unique experience of interaction with the Russian peacekeepers since he had been the head of the internal affairs PMR for a long time in Bendery - a town with a high security. Based on its experience and practices of cooperation, Vadim Krasnoselsky constantly draws attention to the Russian colleagues on the practical aspects of peacekeeping. He supposes that the conceptual basis of the current operation cannot be revised to determine the final resolution of the conflict on the Dniester.
Chairman of the Supreme Council of Pridnestrovie appealed to Russian interlocutors with the proposal to strengthen the presence of Russian peacekeepers in the region. It was noted that the Pridnestrovian side will continue to be created all the necessary conditions for Russian peacekeepers to perform their functions.
According to results of consultations in the federal authorities the Chairman of the Supreme Council of PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky entrusted Vice-Chairman of the Supreme Council, the head of the parliamentary commission on foreign policy and international relations Galina Antyufeeva to work out the issue of strengthening legislative support peacekeeping in Pridnestrovie as soon as possible. In addition, it was instructed to discuss further political and legal support for Russian efforts to maintain peace and stability in Pridnestrovie.
