Vadim Krasnoselsky was elected as the Chairman of the Supreme Council

After solving a number of procedural issues during the first organizational plenary session - the approval of authority of the newly elected members of parliament, the election of the counting commission and its chairman - the deputies started, perhaps the main issue of the agenda: Election of the Chairman of the Supreme Council. The only candidate for this honorable and responsible post was the deputy of the Supreme Council for the 7th constituency Bendery Vadim Krasnoselsky.

Now the former Speaker Mikhail Burla, introducing the nominations, noted the leadership experience of Vadim Krasnoselsky in senior executive bodies (he served as Minister of the Interior), the implementation of various projects, including the creation of the historical and memorial complex "Bendery Fortress" its high level of organization, discipline and responsibility.

Presiding at the first organizational meeting of the deputy Valery Babchinetsky recognized the candidate for high public office. Vadim Krasnoselsky started his speech in front of colleagues and guests by thanking voters, Pridnestrovian people for active participation in the last parliamentary elections, which showed a high turnout. Those who organized the vote - members of election commissions of different levels honored thanks as well.

The candidate for the post of the speaker intends to pay special attention to ensure the smooth functioning of the legislature, strengthening discipline in the parliamentary environment, the implementation with the norms of the Constitution and the Rules of the Supreme Council, prevent destabilization of the legislative process. According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, the situation regarding the work of Parliament blocking, which took place in September and November this year, can not be considered normal, as many legislations that are important for improving the lives of Pridnestrovians were not adopted. Now we have a lot of acute economic and social problems that need immediate solutions.

It also intends to increase prescribed in the Constitution the supervisory functions of the legislature to step up the work of the Supreme Council supervisory body - the Accounting Chamber. Vadim Krasnoselsky in foreign policy will stick with policy, stated by Pridnestrovians at the referendum on September 17, 2006 - PMR independence and its further free joining to the Russian Federation.

As a result of voting the absolute majority of deputies of the Supreme Council, with the exception of Oleg Khorzhan, voted for Vadim Krasnoselsky as the head of the Supreme Council.

The heads of official representatives of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, in Pridnestrovie, Sergei Surago and Alexander Vataman in the course of the first organizational plenary meeting read a welcome address to the deputies of Pridnestrovie on behalf of the leaders of South Ossetian and Abkhazian parliaments.

Then parliamentarians moved to the election of the Vice-President of the Supreme Council.
