Deferment Granting

The Supreme Council deputies considered the law-in-draft of their colleagues from the Education Committee. Parliamentarians Igor Buga, Andrey Safonov and Pavel Shinkaryuk proposed adjusting the rule on granting the right to doctors to receive a deferment from conscription for military service. The current version of the law "On universal military duty and military service" concerns doctors of state and municipal healthcare institutions. There are organizations in the republic at the same time that are not related to the healthcare system, the authors of the law-in-draft explained.

The Supreme Council deputies supported the law-in-draft in the first reading, taking into account the shortage of doctors in the republic. The profile committee on legislation, protection of rights and freedoms of citizens will continue to work on it. The rule on deferment from military service will apply to doctors who are permanently working in state and municipal organizations of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic if the initiative is adopted in the final reading.
