Measures to update labor legislation standards have been proposed

The PMR Government presented measures to the Supreme Council to update the Labor Code standards. The legislative initiative submitted to the parliament for consideration was the result of the work of an interdepartmental group. It also included representatives of the Union of Industrialists, Agrarians and Entrepreneurs of Pridnestrovie and the Federation of Trade Unions of Pridnestrovie in addition to representatives of the relevant ministries and departments.

The proposed standards promote more relevant social and labor relations at the present stage, while maintaining parity between the trade union, employer and state, as well as a balance of interests between the employee and the employer, the Government noted.

The Supreme Council deputies agreed with the need to adapt labor legislation standards to the modern realities of labor relations.

The head of the relevant Committee noted at the same time that large-scale changes to labor legislation prepared by the highest executive body of state power require long and detailed discussion. Deputies supported the Government's legislative initiative in the first reading at the plenary session. The relevant parliamentary Committee will continue to work on the legislations, taking into account all comments and suggestions made.
