The Holiday of Strength and Courage

According to the web-site of Bendery television the Union of Soldiers-Internationalists of the city of Bendery was the initiators of the republican tournament on bench press. Veterans of the war in Afghanistan took places of honor in a cozy hall of “The Rovessnik” (the same age). They note: such events are the opportunity to appeal to young people, to call to take care of tradition.

The 17th national tournament brought together nearly 30 athletes from different cities of the republic. Depending on the age and physical training they were divided into two categories: young men between 14 and 18 years old and juniors from 19 to 23 years. As the organizers say, a number of participants increases with every year.

Fourteen-year-old Andrei Mironov won the first place among boys, he won weight of 90 kilograms. Nikita Ratushny and Danil Isayko were among the winners. 21-year-old student of the Military Institute Vladislav Munchesku was an absolute champion among juniors. His result was 140 kg. Alexander Unguryan and Nikolai Stepanov were prize winners among juniors. All tournament participants received diplomas and memorable gifts from organizers.
