Pridnestrovian State University celebrates the 88th anniversary of its foundation. The festivities began at the Cyril and Methodius Cultural and Educational Center. Students, teachers and honored guests gathered at the celebration of the birthday of the main university of the republic, including Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture Mikhail Burla, Deputy Oleg Vasilaty and Prime Minister Alexander Martynov.
The history of the university began on October 1, 1930. Approximately 120 people were the first graduates of the pedagogical institute. PSU today is a research-type university with a three-level education system. Highly qualified bachelors, specialists and masters graduate there annually. There are 10 faculties, 1 institute, 2 branches.
Rector of PSU named after T.G.Shevchenko Stepan Beryl emphasized that 88 years is a respectable age for a person, for a university it is the heyday and maturity.
Congratulations to teachers, students, graduates, all those who consider themselves part of a large house - Pridnestrovian State University. The welcome address of the President Vadim Krasnoselsky was read by Chairman of the Government Alexander Martynov.
On behalf of the Supreme Council, the chief institution of higher education of the republic was congratulated by the head of the committee on education, science and culture, candidate of geographical sciences, associate professor Mikhail Burla.
Mikhail Burla expressed confidence that the university will be able to switch to digital technologies in education. The legislator supposes that state and public structures should more actively use in their work scientific papers issued by the state university.
The solemn event continued with a festive concert prepared by students of Pridnestrovian State University. According to the tradition, another significant event will take place on the birthday of the university - dedication of first-year students to PSU students. Beginners will be able to get to know each other better, to plunge into the world of bright student life.
