Celebrating the Day of science is confined to the date of the founding of Imperial Russia in the Academy of Sciences and Arts - February 8, 1724. In-depth research in different fields of science, laying the foundations of many fundamental doctrines were carried out three centuries ago. Soviet scientists made invaluable contribution to world science research and discoveries. The Soviet Union launched the first nuclear power plant, created the first artificial Earth satellite, there was such a science as aerospace, astronomy and biology went on a fundamentally different level. Today the mark of science is in almost all research teams. Pridnestrovians have the right to share this date with Russian scientists.

Feast of intellectual work took place in the Pridnestrovian State University. In addition to the university management, representatives from the Ministry of Education, teachers and students, the republican scientific-practical conference was attended by the speaker of parliament, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Economic Geography and Regional Economics PSU Mikhail Burla, Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, an assistant professor of horticulture and viticulture PSU Efimy Koval and head of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Culture Vladimir Bodnar.

In the course of the scientific-practical conference the presentations were made by heads of research laboratories PSU. Candidate of Historical Sciences Nikolai Telnov told about the results of archaeological research in Pridnestrovie in the past year. The excavations took place in the villages Chobruchi, Rashkovo and other areas of the republic. Pridnestrovian scientists have found one of the archaeological sites of the village Slobodzeya district archaic Greek ceramics. According to Nikolai Telnov, the discovery suggests that Greek colonists came to this territory at the end of VII century. the Pridnestrovian researchers are ready to continue working in this direction in 2015.
