The Republic equals in age holiday weekdays

The Supreme Council is the same age as the Republic. Despite the serious political pressure, in the early 90-ies of the last century on the left bank of the Dniester the statehood formed: November 22-25 1990, elections to the Supreme Council PMSSR. Republic acquired a legitimate legislature. The first convening, as a young, aspiring to independence, the republic was multinational. Legislative mandates received Russian, Ukrainians, Moldovans, Gagauz, Bulgarian, Jewish and Turkmens. Among the delegates were workers in industry, construction, transport and communications, representatives of agriculture, non-production sphere, state and public organizations. 60 people took the responsibility and courage to present at the legislative level, the interests of the citizens of the unrecognized state. They had to work in conditions of permanent political and economic pressure, and in the 92 th - large-scale hostilities.

Today, 43 deputies of the Supreme Council for the sixth convocation defend the interests of Pridnestrovians. They are loyal to laid down 26 years ago principles and improve the legislation, the foundations of which were laid by pathfinders of Pridnestrovian parliamentary system.

The holiday was not a week-end. The parliamentarians exchanged greetings at a meeting of the Presidium of the Supreme Council.

Summing up the first year of operation of the Supreme Council of the VI convocation, Vice-Speaker noted that it was formed on the day of the 25th anniversary of the legislature (single day of voting was held November 29, 2015). Updated Parliament immediately and actively was involved in the legislative process. Budget 2016 was adopted, they managed to create conditions for repayment of current debt to pay salaries and pensions. Every effort in the context of the collapse of the economy was made to ensure the stability of social benefits. Legislative framework will minimize individual enterprises and branches of the economic crisis. As a result, it saved thousands of jobs in various cities and regions of the republic. The improvement of legislation in the sphere of social protection continues.
