Eligibility for a Home Purchase Subsidy

Those state employees who collected the necessary package of documents last year but could not take advantage of the privilege will also be able to receive a state subsidy for the purchase of their own housing. The Young Family Support Act came into force in March 2020. The category of recipients of subsidies includes teachers, doctors, officers of the Armed Forces, district militia officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, certified employees of the penal system and the escort battalion of the Ministry of Justice. One of the spouses must be under 35 years of age. Many have lost the right to the benefit due to the fact that state support began to operate only this year.

The authors of the amendments to the law "On measures of state support in connection with the introduction of a state of emergency and (or) restrictive measures (quarantine) aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus infection caused by a new type of COVID-19 virus in 2020 and 2021" are deputies of the Supreme Council Grigory Dyachenko, Anton Onufrienko and Sergey Cheban. The amendment to the law will allow those who have exceeded the age limit of 35 to receive subsidies.

The deputies supported the opinion of their colleagues at the plenary session. Amendments to the anti-crisis law were adopted in the first reading. The relevant committee will continue to work on the law-in-draft for consideration in the second reading.
