The XVI Republican scientific and practical conference dedicated to the topic of protecting the rights and freedoms of person and citizen was opened in the Constitutional Court of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. This is an annual event held by the Law Faculty of the Pridnestrovian State University with the support of the state authorities of the republic.
The conference was timed to coincide with the 76th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights – a fundamental document defining the basic rights and freedoms that all people are endowed with. The organizers of the conference this year were the Law Faculty of Pridnestrovian State University named after Taras Shevchenko and the Constitutional Court of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
The welcoming address to the participants was sent by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov. , It was announced by the Dean of the Law Faculty of the Pridnestrovian State University, Ekaterina Lysenko in the course of the opening of the conference.
The speaker of the parliament expressed confidence that constructive discussions and exchange of experience will contribute to the advancement of new ideas, the formation of promising proposals and approaches to solving the most pressing problems in the field of protecting human rights and freedoms.
The conference will last two days. More than 50 reports on the problems of ensuring and protecting human rights in the modern world will be presented at the plenary and five sectional sessions. Not only researchers from Pridnestrovie, but also teachers from Russian universities will take part in the conference.
