Congratulations to the Veteran

Deputy of the Supreme Council in the Zapadny Tiraspol election district, a leader of “The Obnovlenie” (Renewal) Galina Antyufeeva visited the veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Arkady Kovalev, who November 14 celebrated his 90th birthday.

The Parliamentarian sincerely congratulated the front-line soldier, wished good health. She thanked the veteran, who met the anniversary with his relatives, for the faithful service to the Fatherland, cheerfulness, optimism and love of life.

Arkady Stepanovich Kovalev belongs to the generation of defenders of the Motherland of the last military draft, dated 1944. Young people born in 1926 and 1927 were drafted to the Red Army and the Navy, the press service of the Renewal Party reported.

Arkady Kovalev in 1944 studied in an air school, served in Spain and Hungary as an aircraft technician. Later served in Marculesti, in the 86th Guards fighter aviation Borisov Red Banner Order of Suvorov regiment, where he was chief engineer.

He participated in the creation of a supersonic MiG-21, for which he has state awards.
