Vladimir Lukich Bodnar, a participant in the hostilities for the defense of Pridnestrovie, the PMR Supreme Council deputy of the 1st-5th convocations and a public figure of the republic, celebrated his 80th birthday. Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Korshunov, Vice Speaker Galina Antyufeeva and Chairman of the Commission on Mandates, Regulations and Parliamentary Ethics Grigory Dyachenko congratulated him on his anniversary.
Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov presented the Order of Friendship to one of the founders of the republic on behalf of the PMR President. The Speaker especially noted the contribution to the development of Pridnestrovie that Vladimir Lukich made in the first years of the foundation of the young state. He thanked for the work that Vladimir Bodnar is now doing within the framework of the Consultative Assembly of the First Deputies of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and his public activities.
Vladimir Bodnar continues to work today despite his considerable age. He was elected chairman of the "Ukrprosvita" Republican public organization in May 2005. He considers the preservation of Ukrainian culture and language one of his main tasks. He presented New Year's gifts to the children of Ukrainian refugees on behalf of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in Tiraspol on his birthday. Children in Bendery and Rybnitsa will receive their gifts in the coming days.
Chairman of the Commission on Mandates, Rules and Parliamentary Ethics Grigory Dyachenko congratulated the hero of the day on his birthday from all Ukrainians of Pridnestrovie. He noted the importance of the cause for which Vladimir Bodnar continues to work.
Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Galina Antyufeeva noted Vladimir Bodnar's special contribution to the formation and development of the republic. She added that Vladimir Lukich in the family circle is a caring husband, a loving father and a grandfather adored by his grandchildren despite the tough position in public affairs.
