Congratulations and awards to the RF military personnel

On the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, servicemen of the OGRV in Pridnestrovie received congratulations. A festive concert was held in the capital's House of Officers, and an exhibition of military equipment was presented nearby in the open air.  

The essence of the holiday is to honor those who have dedicated their lives to serving the Fatherland, noted at the solemn meeting the Head of the OGRV in the PMR Dmitry Zelenkov. Applause and words of gratitude sounded to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, the Armed Forces and labor present in the hall.

Congratulations to the OGRV military personnel in the PMR were conveyed by the commander of the troops of the Western Military District, Hero of the Russian Federation, Colonel General Alexander Zhuravlev.

Colonel Andrei Pribytkov, military and airborne attaché at the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, noted that the command of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation highly appreciates the activities of the OGRV in Pridnestrovie.

The PMR Defense Minister Oleg Obruchkov read out congratulations from the Commander-in-Chief of the PMR Armed Forces Vadim Krasnoselsky. According to the President, every citizen of Pridnestrovie who takes care of loved ones, feels personal responsibility for the future of his native land and seeks to benefit it, is a defender of the fatherland.

Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, parliamentarian, Chairman of the Pridnestrovian Association of War Veterans in Afghanistan Igor Buga, deputy of the Supreme Council, co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission from Pridnestrovie Oleg Belyakov was invited to the solemn meeting. They presented the distinguished Russian servicemen with the medal “For Merit in the Peacekeeping Operation”.

The role of the Russian military is difficult to overestimate, says Oleg Belyakov. Since 1992, after the cessation of the armed conflict, and to this day, Russian military personnel, together with the military personnel of Pridnestrovie, Moldova and Ukraine, have performed a sacred duty on the banks of the Dniester.

A concert program was performed by the orchestra of the General Staff of the PMR Armed Forces for military personnel and guests of the holiday.
