Benefits for orphans from January 1, 2026 will increase by an average of 10%. Deputies adopted the corresponding government law-in-draft in the first reading and will continue working on it in the second. The increase concerns 7 benefits, including food, household needs, the purchase of clothing, educational literature and writing materials, as well as benefits for graduation from schools and orphanages and for employment. The 10% increase will concern the monetary compensation paid to orphans-graduates in exchange for a set of seasonal clothing and shoes. Changes are being made to the laws "On additional guarantees for the social protection of orphans and children left without parental care" and "On education". In addition, changes are being made to the Housing Code to standardize the mechanism for registering orphans to receive housing.
