Pensions and child benefits increasing

18.01.2023

Pridnestrovians will receive a pension increased by 5% from February 1. The amount of benefits paid to families raising children will increase by 10%. This is a one-time allowance for the birth (adoption) of a child, an allowance for caring for a child until he reaches 2 years of age, a monthly allowance for a child for low-income families.

The financial balances at the beginning of the year will be used to increase. This is 145 million rubles. Changes have been made to the laws on the republican budget for 2023, on the Unified State Social Insurance Fund and "On State Benefits for Citizens with Children". The legislations were prepared the day before, after the instruction of Vadim Krasnoselsky, announced on January 16 in the course of the meeting with the heads of state authorities and administration. The profile committees – on economic and social policy – and the deputies in general carried out operational work on the consideration of legislations.

The monthly allowance for a child that low-income families receive will be 34.1 minimum wages (330 rubles 77 kopecks) from February 1. This allowance is paid to families with many children, single mothers, recipients of disability pensions and other categories prescribed in the law “On State Benefits to Citizens with Children”, and whose average family income is less than the subsistence level. According to the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor, the average cost of living in December 2022 makes 1846 rubles. Over 16000 families receive such benefits in Pridnestrovie.

The monthly allowance for caring for a child up to the age of 2 years has increased from 110 minimum wages to 121 minimum wages from February 1 will be paid in the amount of 1173 rubles 70 kop. We are talking about mothers, fathers or guardians who are subject to state compulsory social insurance or have ceased their activities as individual entrepreneurs, and other categories prescribed by law.

The amount will increase to 88 minimum wages (853 rubles 60 kopecks) from February 1 for those who received benefits for caring for a child under 2 years of age in the amount of 80 minimum wages. The payment applies to non-working and non-student mothers and those who study in absentia at universities and technical schools.

The one-time allowance for the birth (adoption) of a child will increase from 220 minimum wages to 242.00 minimum wages and will amount to 2347 rubles. It is worth noting that a lump-sum allowance is paid upon adoption of a child under the age of 14 inclusive according to the law.

The norms adopted by the deputies to increase these types of child benefits will affect about 25000 families.

The new norms after signing by the PMR President will come into force on February 1 this year. The mechanism for implementing the adopted amendments to the laws will be worked out by the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor.
