Supplies of the Russian vaccine to Pridnestrovie under control of the State Duma of the Russian Federation (UPDATED)

17.03.2021

Positive decision on the allocation of the Sputnik V vaccine for Pridnestrovie was made by the Operational Headquarters in the Russian Federation. First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Konstantin Zatulin said this today during discussion of the situation with the spread of coronavirus in the course of the round table in Moscow. The issue of the need to supply vaccines to the PMR was raised in their reports by the head of the parliamentary-government delegation, speaker of the Pridnestrovian parliament Alexander Korshunov, the Head of the Committee on Economic Policy Viktor Guzun and other representatives of the republic's delegation.

The State Duma deputies representing the interests of the residents of our republic sent applications for the allocation of vaccine for Pridnestrovians. These include Umakhan Umakhanov, Sergei Neverov, Alexander Yaroshuk, Sergei Chizhov, Artem Turov, Konstantin Zatulin.

Konstantin Zatulin emphasized that the State Duma voted for a request to the Government of the Russian Federation on the amount and timing of assistance for the vaccination of residents of Pridnestrovie on January 20. The received answer that the issue is in the process of being worked out, does not suit the Russian parliamentarians.

The distribution of Russian vaccines abroad will start from the near-abroad countries, especially from such territories as Pridnestrovie, which cannot receive assistance from anyone but from the Russian Federation as soon as the opportunity arises.

Parliament Speaker Alexander Korshunov thanked Russian colleagues for their help in promoting the issue of vaccine supply to Pridnestrovie. He expressed hope that it will be resolved in the near future.
