The planes of international cooperation

The Vice Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva met at the parliamentary platform with representatives of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in the Republic of Moldova. Deputy Ambassador of Sweden Adam Amberg took part in it. As part of the foreign delegation - program manager of the Embassy Daniel Vidayku, as well as the head of the Bendery Center for Development and Support of Civil Initiatives "Resonance" Julian Abramov. Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture Mikhail Burla and adviser to the Chairman of the Supreme Council Sergey Shirokov took part in the event from the Pridnestrovian side.

The representative of the Swedish embassy thanked the Pridnestrovian deputies for their openness, the opportunity to meet and discuss pressing issues. Over the past two years, the Swedish Embassy in Moldova has paid special attention to issues of social security and protection, human rights activities. This country, with the support of international organizations and structures, sponsors and oversees the implementation of various humanitarian projects.

In the course of the dialogue, the program of cooperation with Pridnestrovie was discussed in the framework of the implementation of the recommendations of the UN senior expert on human rights Thomas Hammarberg. It was presented two years ago and included a number of areas: creating conditions for the protection and development of people with disabilities, combating the HIV / AIDS pandemic and tuberculosis, and counteracting domestic violence. The program was implemented with the financial support of the Government of Sweden in close cooperation with the relevant ministries and departments of Pridnestrovie.

The Swedish diplomat thanked and appreciated the participation of the Pridnestrovians in the interested discussion held in February this year within the framework of the UNDP round table "The phenomenon of domestic violence: figures, facts, measures".

At the end of the international meeting in the Supreme Council, the commentaries to the journalists were given by Vice Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva.

According to the Vice Speaker, during the meeting there was also a question of setting up a joint commission whose members will draft legislations on relevant topics using the European experience. Representatives of the ministries of the interior, health, social protection, and education, who daily come into contact with these problems, participate in its work, in addition to parliamentarians. Galina Antyufeeva expressed her hope that the joint work will bring positive results.
