The 50th anniversary last bell for graduates at the capital's school No. 14 has rung. The time between a carefree childhood and an adult, independent life. The holiday was especially significant this year: the educational institution will celebrate its 80th anniversary at the end of May, and the assembly itself was held in a series of major republican holidays – the Year of the Pridnestrovian People, the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and the upcoming 35th anniversary of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
The school yard greeted the graduates with applause, flowers and warm words from teachers and parents. Boys in ties and girls in white aprons said goodbye to childhood today, not hiding their excitement. Some held back tears, some smiled through them.
The ceremonial assembly was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, deputy for constituency No. 25 "Zapadny" Galina Antyufeeva. She emphasized in her speech that this graduation is taking place against the backdrop of historical anniversaries and is itself a part of history.
The parents also had tears. Mothers and fathers recalled how they led their little ones by the hand to the first grade — and could not believe that it was time to say goodbye to school.
This year is a double anniversary for School No. 14. The first eleventh-graders graduated here in 1975, and since then the school has seen off thousands of strong, confident and talented children into adulthood. 48 graduates graduated from the school, 6 of them are medal contenders this year.
43 thousand schoolchildren in total have completed the academic year in the republic this year, including 2063 11th-graders and 4203 9th-graders. 250 eleventh-graders from Pridnestrovie are contenders for gold medals.
Years of study, victories in Olympiads, competitions and sports competitions are behind them. Exams, choice of profession and future are ahead. Many have already decided on their plans, some are still thinking, but everyone, without exception, is ready to move forward.
