Assistance in the employment of people with special needs

22.03.2021

The Supreme Council adopted amendments to the Law on Employment of the Population and the Law on Social Protection of Disabled People in October 2020. They provide an opportunity to register at employment centers for people with disabilities of I and II groups. At the same time, unemployment benefits are not paid to them. But it is possible, at the expense of the state, to take training courses for any profession, if there is no suitable job in the list of vacancies.

The Supreme Council noted that the law is now in force that exempts republican public organizations of the blind and deaf from paying tax on income from sales, provided that half of the employees are disabled, and at least 50% of the amount of the accrued tax is directed to their social needs.

347 people with disabilities applied to employment centers for assistance in finding suitable work last year. 35 disabled persons of the third group are employed. Another 8 have gone to study courses since the beginning of this year - for a computer user, bartender-barista, hairdresser, manager.

Disabled persons of I or II groups must be provided with a rehabilitation card to the employment center. Then, before sending a person with a disability to coursework, a professional test is carried out.

Thanks to the law, para-sportswoman Marina Musteatsa was registered at the employment center in Bendery as a person with disability of group II. The girl has been playing table tennis for seven years. At the championships of the international and republican level, the parasportwoman takes prizes. She was diagnosed with a disease affecting the joints in early childhood. Every step was painful. But an optimist in life, Marina always strives for self-development. Soon she will go to study for computer courses.

Now, due to quarantine, it is possible to contact the employment center only remotely. Experts give a full consultation by phone. Documents can be sent by mail or email. A call button is installed at the entrance to the building. Such buttons are installed for people with limited mobility - people with special needs and the elderly, and under quarantine conditions - for everyone who contacts the employment service.
