Assistance in employment of disabled people of I and II groups

Employment centers will assist people with disabilities of groups I and II in finding employment. The Supreme Council adopted in the first reading amendments to the laws "On social protection of persons with special needs" and "On employment". The limited ability of this category of people makes it difficult to find work. According to the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor, in 2019, 423 people with disabilities were registered with the employment promotion centers, 37 of which were employed. Currently, 74 disabled people of group I and 993 disabled people of group II are working. They independently found a job, as long as the specialists of employment centers can only help disabled people of group III in finding employment.

The adoption of the legislations, in the opinion of the Supreme Council Deputy Sergei Cheban will allow shifting the currently difficult issue of employment of disabled people in positive direction. There are a large number of complaints about this. Work on the documents will continue in preparation for the second reading.
