Elderly people will receive wheelchairs from the state

Deputies of the PMR Supreme Council considered amendments to the law “On social protection of veterans and persons of retirement age”. Now elderly people who cannot walk on their own and do not have a disability group will be able to receive wheelchairs, walkers and other mobility aids from the state. Previously, they were issued only to people with disabilities.

According to the amendment, it is proposed to legislate the right of older people, if necessary, to receive wheelchairs, walkers and other mobility aids from the state. They will need to contact social security authorities and write an application for free receipt of such products. The mechanism for issuing and recording will be determined by the PMR Government.

The Supreme Council adopted amendments to the law "On social protection of veterans and persons of retirement age" in the second reading.
