This circular relationship was discussed at the meeting, held at the site of the capital's state administration. One of its signatories, Vice-Speaker Sergei Cheban said that the initiative to combat all forms of domestic violence (physical, psychological, sexual, economic), was developed on the recommendation of the chief expert of the UN Human Rights in Pridnestrovie Thomas Hammarberg. The President, after becoming acquainted with his report, issued a decree ordering the work carried out on the adjustment of legislation in the spheres underlined by the Ombudsman. Discussed law-in-draft is based on the model law proposed by United Nations in 1996 and supported by many countries of the world. Its rules, according to Sergei Cheban are not dogma. The community has been involved to this public discussion at the stage of the first committee consideration. The initiative has caused serious public resonance.
