The defenders of Pridnestrovie who died in 1992 were honored throughout the republic

The Day of Remembrance and Sorrow for those killed in the city of Bendery, memorial events were held throughout the republic on June 19. They were attended by deputies of the Supreme and local Councils, public figures. The largest were organized in Bendery, which 33 years ago experienced fierce bloody battles from the Moldovan side.

A flower-laying ceremony was held at the Glory Memorial in Tiraspol. The memory of the defenders of Pridnestrovian was honored by the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Galina Antyufeeva and the First President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Igor Smirnov. The Obnovlenie party held a traditional action "Wreath of Memory" in Dubossary in memory of the victims of the Bendery tragedy. It was formed from fresh flowers of the townspeople. Dubossary residents honored the memory of the deceased Bendery residents with a minute of silence at the Memorial of Military Glory. Deputy of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Boris German took part in the memorial action.

A memorial service in Dubossary was held for those killed and missing in Bendery on June 19, 1992.

A flower-laying ceremony in memory of the Bendery tragedy was also held in Rybnitsa, Grigoriopol, Kamenka, Slobodzeya and Dnestrovsk.

A siren will sound at 16:45 in all cities of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic as part of a nationwide minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Bendery tragedy.
