A week ago, at the initiative of the deputy Sergei Khankevich parliamentarians sent a letter to the Minister of Justice for the grounds on which the further punishment exempt citizens convicted on serious criminal charges. It is about Gregory Rosca, who in 2014 was in a maximum security penal colony for aggravated murder and selling drugs, and about Vitaly Eremenko, who in the same year was sentenced to 12 years on several articles, including fraud, misappropriation , embezzlement, forgery, illegal business.

According to the author of the inquiry the official website of the President contains information about the 17 pardoned without specifying their names. This act of humanity is dedicated to the Republic Day and is dated September 2. Parliamentarians hoped to find out whether the figure in this list, notwithstanding that the inquiry for the criminals or their release is due to some other solutions.

In response to the deputy inquiry the Minister of Justice sent a document in which it specifies the grounds on which the deputies are interested in such things. The official response to it is not considered. That is, to perform duties of giving answer to the  deputy inquiry allegedly did not escape. But even if we accept such a formulation, the minister violated the terms established by the legislature of official information (had to answer to do during the week).

The parliamentarians spoke about the advisability of inviting the heads of state or its official representative who could comment on what is happening, as well as the manager or someone from the members of the Pardon Commission, to be able to ask questions of the original sources for the next plenary meeting. In addition, it is proposed to send the materials available to the Investigation Committee. Parliamentary committee on regulations was instructed to synthesize information and arrange it in the form of a draft resolution. The document will be prepared for the next meeting.
