The winners of thematic drawing and essay competitions for Suvorov's anniversary were awarded

The Obnovlenie (Renewal) Party and the Future of Pridnestrovie Foundation launched a long-term cultural and educational project "Invincible Suvorov" for the 295th anniversary of the great commander's birth. The anniversary will be celebrated in November 2025. The idea of ​​holding it was put forward by the parliamentarian, and now the head of the state administration of Tiraspol and Dnestrovsk Ilona Tyuryaeva. The goal of the project is to perpetuate the memory of Suvorov, to make it serve as a beacon for new generations, writes the website of the Obnovlenie Party. This fall, creative competitions of drawings and essays in memory of the founder of Tiraspol were announced. Schoolchildren studying in art schools and art studios of Pridnestrovie took part in the drawing competition "My offspring, please follow my example...". Young artists were offered two nominations to choose from: "Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov" and "Alexander Suvorov – the founder of Tiraspol". Works were assessed in three age categories: 7-10 years; 11-13 years; 14-18 years. Not only schoolchildren, but also students of secondary and higher vocational educational institutions took part in the essay competition on the topic "Invincible Suvorov". The winners and prize-winners in the competitions were determined by a professional jury – teachers of art schools and members of the Union of Artists of Pridnestrovie, journalists and writers of the republic.

The winners and prize-winners of creative competitions about Suvorov were honored on November 29, at the grand opening of the cultural and educational project "Invincible Suvorov" for the 295th anniversary of the birth of the great commander.

Schoolchildren and students who distinguished themselves in drawing and essay competitions about Suvorov were awarded at the grand opening of the project. It is their works that will be included in the collection about Suvorov, which will be published based on the results of the project. Young artists presented him both as a hero of the Fatherland and as an ordinary person who treated soldiers in a fatherly way. The authors of the essays discussed how they would have acted in Suvorov's place in a given situation, what qualities of the commander they would like to adopt, what lessons can be learned from his experience.

More than 600 drawings and about 300 essays in total were sent to the competition. More than 80 children from all over Pridnestrovie became laureates of the essay competition and prize winners of the drawing competition. The diplomas were presented to the children by Supreme Council deputies Gregory Dyachenko and Vadim Levitsky, as well as writer Olga Molchanova and deputy director of the Tiraspol Children's Art School named after Foinitsky Ekaterina Boyko, who participated in the jury's work.

It could not be otherwise in the region, on whose fate Suvorov's victories had a multifaceted influence: the commander played an important role in strengthening the borders of the Russian Empire, developing the region and shaping its cultural identity. The memory of Suvorov is especially honored in Pridnestrovie. Many objects bear his name, and his image is used as a symbol of historical and cultural ties with Russia.

Congratulating the children, their mentors and parents, Deputy Head of the State Administration of the capital for Social Development Stella Bay said that the project about Suvorov united people of different ages, who all together turn to value guidelines, think about the importance of the humanities – history, literature.

Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov (November 24, 1730 – May 17, 1800) – the great Russian commander, generalissimo participated in seven major wars, won 60 battles and lost none. Suvorov is not only the most famous military leader in Russian military history, but also one of the most famous commanders in the world. Suvorov is the author of the military-theoretical works "Regimental Institution" and "The Science of Victory". He created an original system of views on the methods of waging war and combat, education and training of troops. Suvorov's strategy was offensive in nature, he developed the tactics of columns and loose formations. "The Science of Victory" is a work that summarizes Suvorov's rich combat experience, accumulated over many years of military career, it can be considered as a tactical manual for officers and soldiers.

Alexander Suvorov is considered the founder of Tiraspol, since it was on his instructions that the Sredinnaya fortress was founded as part of the organization of the Dniester Line on the left bank of the Dniester to strengthen the new borders of the empire in 1792; the city of Tiraspol was founded near the Sredinnaya earthen fortress (city status since 1795).
