The Plans for the Year of Family Values

2024 has been declared the Year of Family Values in Pridnestrovie. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky in his message to public and administrative authorities focused on the events planned within the framework of the Year of Family Values. The President, emphasizing that “the family is the foundation of any society, any state,” directed the authorities to continue work aimed at preserving traditional family values, strengthening the institution of marriage and the foundations of the family.

Vadim Krasnoselsky noted the necessity of working continuation to provide state support to young families in purchasing housing by expanding the categories of subsidy recipients.

The PMR Law “On state support for young families for the purchase of housing” provides for the opportunity for many categories of public sector employees to receive a state subsidy for full or partial payment of a loan and interest on it for the purchase of housing in Pridnestrovie. The Supreme Council, based on incoming legislative initiatives, expands the categories of recipients every year. According to the Government, 379 certificates were issued, 281 apartments or houses were purchased from 2021 to 2023, the amount of subsidies issued was 55.7 million rubles.

The program of state support for young families for the purchase of housing will continue to be implemented this year, noted Minister of Social Protection and Labor Elena Kulichenko, speaking after the President’s Message. The republican budget allocates 10.5 million rubles for state subsidies. The ministry will consider the possibility of expanding the categories of recipients of state subsidies, added Elena Kulichenko.

The state target program for providing housing for orphans and children left without parental care for 2018-2027 will continue to be implemented in 2024. The republican budget 2024 included 19 million rubles for the purchase of 61 apartments or houses.

Minister of Social Protection and Labor Elena Kulichenko informed the President that the republican plan of events within the framework of the Year of Family Values includes 78 events of republican and local significance. All ministries and departments responsible for carrying out events, state administrations, and social activists took part in the preparation of the plan.

The plan for the Year of Family Values outlines the following activities:

– holding republican thematic competitions of artistic, creative and sports orientation;

– holding a scientifically oriented conference on the topic of preserving traditional family values in modern society;

– ensuring the priority of family placement for orphans and children left without parental care, working with candidates for adoptive parents, guardians, trustees;

– “The history of my family in the history of my country” competition for students of general education institutions;

– holding meetings with families who are in difficult life situations, providing legal advice and psychological assistance;

– charity events in support of low-income families;

– activities aimed at preserving reproductive health for young people and adolescents;

– educational work with parents of students about the importance of physical education and sports in the family;

– physical education and recreational family events;

– honoring married couples with a family history of more than 50 years who have worked and lived in rural areas;

– excursions, trips for orphans and children without parental care;

– promotion of traditional family values, strengthening the institution of family.
