Plans for the Year of Health

This year the Year of Health is declared in our republic. About what measures it is planned to implement in this regard, said the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Health Alexei Tsurkan.

The main areas of work are the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and improving the medical literacy of the population, improving environmental conditions, reducing mortality from circulatory system diseases, tuberculosis, cancer, alcoholism, smoking and drug addiction, HIV prevention, and immunization promotion.

The main goals of the implementation of the action plan is to improve the quality of life of the population by creating comfortable conditions for healthy lifestyle.

This year it is planned to hold sports events, health days, open days in medical facilities. The Health Festival is scheduled for spring, and the International Medical Forum will be held on November 20-21. As emphasized by Alexei Tsurkan, in the universities of our republic this year it is planned to introduce the course “medical care”, as well as strengthen sanitary control of the environment. An important role this year is assigned to the psychological health of our citizens. In this regard, special attention will be paid to informing the public about the telephone hotline, as well as emergency psychological services. Planned activities aimed at psychological education and counseling of teachers, children and their parents.

In addition, the plans for this year include the implementation of infrastructure projects. Major repairs will be continued in medical facilities and equipping them with new equipment.

Alexei Tsurkan noted that it is planned to approve the Concept for a healthy lifestyle, as well as implement a program for medical examination of all Pridnestrovians.

A special role in promoting healthy lifestyle will be played by the media. In the plots, programs and special sections, it is planned to make available to the population the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, as well as inform about the consequences of addictions.

At the end of the extended meeting, the President Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the importance of consolidated interaction between all branches of Government.

In this regard, the President emphasized the importance of personal responsibility for the implementation of the Development Strategy of the PMR, as well as the importance of personal responsibility of officials at any level in matters of working with the population. Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled that this year has two great anniversaries - the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory and the 30th anniversary of our republic. In addition, elections to the Supreme and local Councils will be held in 2020. The President called on all state authorities to prepare and conduct these events at a high level. In conclusion, the President expressed the hope that this year we will come closer to the realization of the main goals defined in the Development Strategy - the recognition of our republic, the final formation of the Pridnestrovian people community and the creation of a socially oriented state.
