For the fifth time, the Yakovlev Readings were held at the main university of the republic. The evest was attended by prominent practicing lawyers, public and political figures, government officials, as well as students - future lawyers. It was held in memory of the first Rector of PSU, one of the authors of the first Pridnestrovian constitution, doctor of law, professor, honored lawyer of the MSSR, veteran of the Great Patriotic War Vasily Nikitovich Yakovlev. Name of the native of Mikhailovka, Rybnitsa District, is included in the list of 100 outstanding scientists of Russia.
The topic of the current international scientific-practical conference is “State and Law: Theory and Practice”. At the beginning of the work, the students laid fresh flowers on the memorial plaque of Vasily Yakovlev installed on the facade of PSU building.
Anna Volkova, the State Advisor to the President, welcomed the participants to the conference on behalf of the President. She recalled the role of Vasily Nikitovich in the formation of Pridnestrovian statehood at the time when he was a Deputy of the Supreme Council of the first convocation.
Well-known Russian politician Sergei Baburin and representative of Udmurt State University Larisa Vernonovskaya addressed the participants of the international conference via video link. In this university, Yakovlev, after moving from Pridnestrovie to Russia, worked 18 years.
Andrei Safonov, Deputy of the Supreme Council, spoke on behalf of the legislature. He conveyed to the participants of the Yakovlev readings parting words of interesting work from the parliament speaker Alexander Korshunov and vice speaker Galina Antyufeyeva.
The work of the conference “State and Law: Theory and Practice” continued with reports and speeches. A guest from Russia, a representative of the Kuban State University, Vadim Konyakhin, devoted a report to international criminal law, and presented a number of scientific papers and monographs to PSU.
State Advisor to the President Anna Volkova investigated the phenomenon of the Councils of People's Deputies, including the example of our republic. Interior Minister Ruslan Mova spoke about the origins and nature of such a social phenomenon as corruption. His report was based on the results of an anonymous poll of Pridnesttovians conducted on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Candidate of Law Yakov Fedorchukov devoted his report to the legal support of the development of the digital economy.
As part of the Yakovlev readings, meeting of the online section with teachers of Kaluga State University is scheduled.
