Today, 20 of 42 members of the Supreme Council are included in a single parliamentary faction “The Obnovlenie” and have significant impact on decision-making by deputies. According to the Chairman of the faction Peter Pasat it is a big responsibility not only to the voters, but to all people of Pridnestrovie. Despite the polarity of opinions on the most important legislations for the public and the state in general, the deputies of the faction elaborate consolidated decision. The deputy expressed regret regarding the absence of other deputy associations at Parliament. The sharpness of discussions, the diversity of opinions and positions would bring considerable benefits in making correct decisions.
2014 for “The Obnovlenie” faction has been especially fruitful, but difficult, based on the political situation in the neighboring state, and the prevailing socio-economic situation in the republic. Representatives of “The Obnovlenie” had to solve urgent problems at the legislative level, together with the President and the government.
Talking about the concept of industrial policy, adopted by deputies, Peter Pasat noted that representatives of “The Obnovlenie” did not agree with the government's proposal to impose a tax on the property of legal entities, as this could make matters of Pridnestrovian enterprises worse.
According to the head of the faction, deputies are trying to inform the position of Pridnestrovians at the international level.
The year was difficult due to the unilateral actions of the Republic of Moldova, adversely affect the activity of Pridnestrovian economic agents and the freedom of movement of citizens of Pridnestrovie. Despite the difficulties, members of the faction actively worked on the adoption of the main financial document and the law-in-draft on the Budget of the State Social Insurance Fund. Proposals of deputies related the hundred-ruble allowances for pensioners. Parliamentarians plan to consider articles vetoed by the President at the next plenary session.
2015 will be not less difficult. The parliamentarian expressed the opinion that today we need to focus all efforts of state authorities to look for additional sources of replenishment, creating optimal conditions for individual entrepreneurs and small businesses. Deputies plan to focus their work in this direction.
Proposals of voters are often the basis for the development of new legislative initiatives. Last year representatives of “The Obnovlenie” met with residents of Tiraspol, Slobodzeia, Grigoriopol, Dubossary, Kamenka, Rybnitsa and Bendery. Peter Pasat emphasized there is no selective approach to people in that meetings, as all citizens have the opportunity to participate in dialogue with the elected representatives. Voters are mainly concerned with everyday problems: issues of housing and communal services, contribution indexing.
Meetings with voters will be organized in the New Year. 2015 - is the final for deputies of the fifth convocation. Elections to the Supreme and local Soviets of People's Deputies will be held in a single day of voting - November 29. Elections, according to Peter Pasat, are the most democratic process of electing representatives of state authorities. The future of the republic depends on how the elections will be held.
