Peter Pasat, “Work of Tiraspol-Dubossary Diocese priests today are priceless”.

Pridnestrovian land where churches and monasteries are constructed, has deep Christian roots and rich Orthodox traditions. The territory during Medieval was a part of the Orthodox Kievan Rus', then the Galicia-Volyn principality. Orthodox life has always been in the region. Orthodoxy development was especially fruitful in the second half XVIII - XIX centuries in the Pridnestrovian region. This is due to the emergence of the first Orthodox churches on the territory of Pridnestrovie.

Since 1995, there is Dubossary vicariate in Tiraspol as part of the Moldovan Metropolitan Church. Three years later, Dubossary Vicariate was reorganized in Tiraspol-Dubossary Diocese. The number of Orthodox churches has increased in the republic over the history of its existence. By means of activities of the diocese the activity on its restoration is conducted. According to the Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Savva, recent years Holy Trinity Church of the village Rashkovo Kamensky District, Cathedral of the Transfiguration in Bendery and the temple in the village Gruska have been restored.

Deputy of the Supreme Council of Peter Pasat thanked the Archbishop for the implementation of a vast spiritual mission for the Pridnestrovian people within five years of leadership in the diocese. Deputies appreciated the activity of the Tiraspol-Dubossary Diocese, symbolizing the development of the Pridnestrovian region.

At the welcoming address on behalf of the deputies of the parliamentary faction "Obnovlenie", he donated a photo album of Pridnestrovie, which represents temples, scenic views of the Dniester River, as well as a desktop calendar for 2015-2016 years. There are children's drawings called the best on the results of the national art competition. 25 collections of children's poems and drawings "My house - Pridnestrovie" were received as gifts. Please note that these books were published on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the republic. 70 pages include the best work of the participants of the Republican competition of young readers and poets. The initiators of these activities for the kids were the Fund "The future of Pridnestrovie", as well as members of the parliamentary faction "Onovlenie".

Events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the diocese, as well as the 200th anniversary of the Bendery Transfiguration Cathedral, will be held in the country from 11 to 13 September. On the occasion of the holiday dates are expected to attend the Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova Vladimir.
