Petr Pasat, "The attitude of Pridnestrovians to people with disabilities is changing"

The grand opening of the Festival of Creativity of Children with Special Needs of Life took place in Dubossary. This year it is held for the sixth time. A festive gala concert, which was organized on the occasion of the opening of the Festival, was attended by representatives of authorities of all levels. Among them there is Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba, the chairman of the profile parliamentary committee Sergei Cheban and the parliamentarian from the city of Dubossary Peter Pasat. Guests and participants of the holiday on behalf of the founders were greeted by Svetlana Zavtur, chairperson of the public organization for the children with disabilities "Tsvetik-Semitsvetik".

The Festival was supported both at the municipal and the national level. Assistance in the organization was provided by representatives of the Russian communities of Pridnestrovie, the Russian Embassy in Moldova, the organization "Rossostrudnichestvo", the Government of Moscow. Thanks to the wide support of the Festival, more than two hundred children from the correctional schools from all over the country, together with their parents and teachers, had an opportunity to get to know each other, show their talents, exchange experiences and relax for three days on the banks of the Dniester River in Dubossary Recreation Camp. Volunteers became helpers for children and their parents.

Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Shcherba from the deputy corps gifted a mobile acoustic system as a gift to the founders of the Festival. He supported the made during the concert proposal to make the Festival Republican.

Last year, the deputy of the Supreme Council, Petr Pasat, became one of the initiators of the Year of Equal Opportunities. In his opinion, this played a big role in mentality of Pridnestrovians, the attitude towards people with disabilities began to change. Pridnestrovians were imbued with this idea.

Currently, more than 23 thousand Pridnestrovians of different ages in the republic have special needs for life.
